One presentation and one paper away from summer

Gurkee Neptune Rope Sandals: Yes, they’re cheap and not the fancy Roger Vivier or K. Jacques St. Tropez sandals that I originally coveted, but with all the traveling I’ll be doing this summer, do I really want to wear away a beautiful leather pair? No. I’d rather save that for the school year. Comfortable, washable rope sandals will do just fine. And these go with everything.

Rodarte for Opening Ceremony Gold Snakeskin Sunglasses: I love anything gold and shiny, and these come with nose pads, which is perfect because I have one of those stereotypical “Asian” nose ridges that plastic frames always slide off of. Especially when I’m sweating. And I plan to be in warm climates all summer.

Norma Kamali Mesh Bathing Suit (sable top, black bottom): I’m definitely not a string bikini girl. I’m also not much of a get-in-the-water girl. But I am a sit-on-the-sand-with-a-book girl. Besides, I already have a very functional two-piece from Gap Body for when I actually need to swim a few laps (I’m looking at you, mandatory Columbia swim test for graduation).
How sad is it that I’m already sartorially prepared for summer, but mentally I’m still thinking about political theory and how to space my margins?
